Article-I

Framed under article 9 of the Society Registration Act – 35 of 2001 and article 3 (15) of the Memorandum of Association of the Society and as approved by the Managing Committee of the Society in its Meeting held on 16.03.2008. These have now been reviewed and approved by the General Body in its meeting held on 23.01.2010. The Society shall be governed by the Memorandum of Society, its Rules & Regulations and these Bye-Laws. If anything in these Bye-Laws is in contravention or in conflict with the Memorandum of Association or Rules and Regulations of the Society the same provision of the Memorandum of Association and Rules and Regulations shall have the supremacy. Article-I. MEMBERSHIP:

Proof of AIOS life membership: (any one of the following self attested copy)

  • Members who are not in any arrears are called active members and enjoy all privileges of the Society.
  • Members in arrears for more than eight months (Two F.C. contributions) shall be treated as suspended membership. During the suspension period, the nominees will not be entitled to receive financial contributions, if the member dies during that period.
  • Membership will stand terminated if a member has not paid for 3 F.C.”s in spite of his arrears shown on the website and receiving regd. letter to that effect. Membership will be terminated on the recommendation of the Executive Committee and approval of the Managing Committee.
  • Ratification Of Membership: Admission of life membership to the society shall be at the discretion of the Executive Committee and their decision shall be final. If a member is refused admission, the reason for this shall be informed to the applicant and admission fee paid by him will be refunded in full. The Provisionally admitted member becomes a regular Member of FBS AIOS from the date of ratification of his membership by the Executive committee even though he receives his receipt for payment earlier at the time of his admission as a provisional Member . The member should fulfill all the other eligible Criteria for admission in to FBS AIOS as a regular member.

Article-II: Finances

Admission Fee:

  • Every applicant for Membership shall pay an admission fee to corpus fund and it is graded according to his age on the day on which the DD is taken for admission into FBS AIOS. This fee is non refundable except in the event of death of the member within the 1st year on recommendation of the Executive Committee.
  • The age parameters or admission fee and financial contributions to the nominees may change as decided by the Managing Committee/ General Body from time to time. At present members up to the age of not completing 54 years only are eligible to join the scheme.
  • The Admission fee as per the age of the member at the time of admission and the Financial Contribution (F.C.) payable by the members to the family is as follows till the membership reaches 3000.

Under the initial years of the scheme life members of AIOS were admitted upto the age of 79 years as follows.

Article-III: Financial Contribution

Fraternity Contribution :

  • The amount as, decided by the General Body of the Society every year during its annual Meeting for that year” s deaths starting from 1ST of April to 31st March of next year , shall be payable to the nominees on the death of an Active Life Member. All the ratified members shall pay from the Fraternity Contribution ( irrespective of the deaths of the members before or after the ratification of Membership ) that is due after ratification of their member ship .
  • Financial Contribution payments by the members to the FBS shall start after his ratification as Life Member of the Society. By the E.C of FBS AIOS. Letters of ratification and FBS AIOS Certificates will be issued then.
  • Demand notices will be sent once every 6 months unless there is no death during that period namely before 15th of April and 15th of September every year by letter and e-mail and Cell Messages The dues list will also be available online at the website www.fbsaios.in . In case any member does not receive any demand notice from Society Office before 15th of April and 15th of September every year shall enquire by phone, letter, e-mail or fax or log on to website for the dues list details and send the dues in time by downloading the demand notice avoiding penalty..
  • Members shall pay the Fraternity Contribution before the end of May or October as noted in the demand notice. Failure to pay will attract a penalty of Rs. 100.00 per month or part there off up to a maximum of Rs. 600 per F.C. Advance deposits of Rs. Five thousand or more will be accepted from members who does not want to pay every 6 months until this amount is accounted.
  • If the member fails to make payment after the issue of the dues notices or display of the notices on the website he/she shall be suspended or terminated as per the Bye-Laws.

Financial Benefit:

  • The nominees are eligible to apply for benefit if an active member dies only one year after ratification of the membership , except if the death is due to accident.
  • FC contributions to the FBS shall start from the date of Ratification of the membership. In the event of death of a member, nominees shall apply to the Secretary of FBS AIOS for the benefit within four months or the stipulated period displayed on the website of the Society. Dues of an eligible member at the time of death will be deducted from the Society ”s Payment to the nominees

Article – IV: Suspension & termination of membership

A member shall be suspended as per Bye-Laws of the Society.

  • If a member has not paid two installment of Fraternity Contribution beyond the time limit offered in the notice for suspension or displayed on the website..
  • The suspension will be revoked when up to date payments are made including the penalty.
  • The suspended member will not be entitled to contest for election and vote during the period of suspension.
  • The nominees will not be eligible to claim Benefit from the society if the member dies during the period of suspension.

The membership of any member can be terminated under the following circumstances.

  • Voluntary resignation by the member from the scheme.
  • Non payment of THREE Fraternity Contributions beyond the limit offered in the notice sent to the member and his / her Nominees or displayed on the website.
  • Any member working against the Aims and Objectives of the scheme.
  • If the member ceases to be the life member of the AIOS for any reason.
  • Submission of any false information in the application form for joining the Society or in any subsequent communications.
  • In such cases of termination the admission fee paid by the member will be refunded without interest after adjusting the dues if any at that point of time to the society.

Article- V: Re-admission to the scheme

Any member whose membership was terminated under any of the above clauses can be readmitted to the scheme with in ONE year of termination with the permission of the Executive Committee on payment of all the dues to the society and with an advance deposit of Rs.5000.. .After One year the terminated member has to join as a new member if he /she fulfills all the qualifications for membership. Readmission to the scheme shall be at the discretion of the Executive Committee. If the same member gives cause for a second termination then He/She shall not be admitted to the scheme at any future date.

Article-VI: Privileges of the member

  • Every member of the FBS AIOS shall be entitled to participate in F.B.S. Meetings, Cultural/ Educational functions and other lawful gatherings arranged by the Society or decided by the Society from time to time.
  • The nominee of the active deceased member shall have the privilege to claim the benefit under the scheme. The contribution from the fraternity of the deceased member shall be calculated on the basis of Rs. 500.00 from each of the active members of the Society or a fixed amount as decided by the General Body of the Society during its annual meeting for all the deaths that occur from the 1st January .to 31st December during that year.
  • A member can nominate nominees. If there are more than one nominee the money shall be paid equally among all the nominees. If the nominee is a minor the details and signature of the Guardian should be given in the application.
  • The member shall be required to supply two passport size photographs and specimen signatures, full address, telephone no., e-mail ID of all the nominee(s) along with the application form for admission submitted at the time of joining the society.
  • A member can change the nominee in his life time and should inform the Secretary on a notarized Bond of Rs. 10/-. And a DD FOR RS 100 taken in the name of “Hon Secretary FBSAIOS A/C.NO :30067225866 SBI SN Puram Vijayawada ” along with a new application and surrender the Original FBS AIOS Certificate. An acknowledgement for the receipt of the change and acceptance of the nomination shall be issued by the Secretary to the Member. The change shall be recorded in the account of the member and a fresh FBS AIOS certificate will be issued to the member ..

Article – VII: Eligibility for claim

  • The nominee/nominees of a member of the scheme will become eligible to get the benefit of Financial Contribution, in case of death of an active member, only after ONE YEAR from the date of the ratification of the membership and not from the date of Provisional admission or date of receipt given.
  • The deceased member was in good standing in making up to date payment of his dues.
  • If a member dies before completing one year of membership or during the period the member stands suspended or terminated, only the admission fee paid by the member and without any interest, will be payable to the nominee (s).
  • In case of accidental death nominee/nominees shall be eligible to claim benefit even if a member dies within the 1st year of admission.

Article -VIII: Procedure for claim

  • In the event of death of a member, the nominee/s shall immediately and in any case within Four Months from the date of death inform in writing to the Secretary, FBS AIOS and apply for F.C. on prescribed Claim form along with annexures. The Claim Form is available on the website www.fbsaios.in or contact the Secretary for it.
  • The claim form dully filled in along with the death certificate issued by the Municipal Authority/ Registrar of Births and Deaths or any other authority nominated by the Government and other relevant enclosures as prescribed in the claim form shall be sent within a period of ONE year from the date of death of the member to the Secretary, FBS.AIOS .
  • In the case of death due to Suicide or Homicide ( with the involvement of the nominees ), the nominees will not be entitled to Fraternity Contribution
  • The Executive Committee of the Scheme will Process the Documents sent by the nominees and approve the claim and disburse the money expeditiously to the nominee/nominees by crossed Cheque.

Article –IX: Details of claim form contents will be as under

Claim Form with the following annexures:

  • Original Death Certificate.
  • Photo of nominee and specimen signature.
  • Original FBS Certificate.
  • Advanced stamped and singed receipt for the amount to be paid by cheque by FBS-AIOS.
  • Certificate of cause of death by the Physician.
  • Nominee Bank account no details photo copy.
  • A brief biography of the member in 10 .lines( optional )
